I have my Elecsa assessment booked in for the 6th of February my first one. For it I wish to do a DB change at my parents house, but there are a couple of problems I can see and wondered what would be the best solution for them.

1. Main bonding to the gas is currently just the other side of the wall from the DB, but there is a tee of it from the meter approximately 10 meters away which is also external.

2. The shower is 9.5 kw wired in 6mm, would this be fine just to put onto a 32amp RCBO or would I have to either change the shower or cable accordingly, also at present the shower has no local isolator and is mains fed direct would I have to amended this accordingly?

Any other things I should look out for also on my assessment?

Thank you in advance.

Ideally the main bonding should be before any tees and if it is an external connection then it should be straight forward to extend the main bonding along to the meter and before the tee.

For the shower you need to look at the current the shower is taking and the installation method of the cable.
You must meet the regulations required as regards the design current, CCC of the cable, and Ib<In<Iz.
