Putting some Cable in with one of these, and i keep finding the Cable is slacking off and spilling to the side and then Tightens and i have to clime down and losen it.
Wondering if there is any better way, i was wondering about Discs around it to hold it in.
Or keeping it in the box and letting it Roller around in that (but that wont let me mover around at angles)
or having a Tube like to have the cable come out of to keep the it tight..

So any better way to stop this Slack from, going off track and tangle?
Working way or Design?

the cable jack from tlc.com comes with a set of croc clips attached to a keyring ring- thread your cable through the ring and then clip the clip to the paper of the cable drum- stops the cable from sliding over!

I agree it a pain in the backside. To reduce the chances of it happening when you get to the end of a pull slowly stop so the drum doesnt keep spinning when you have stopped pulling he cable. This reduces slack on the drum which can go over the side

I've asked 2 other electricians when on site what the croc clips were for and neither new! Thanks JCE

Edit.. although now I've read your post again I cant actually understand it. 'Clip to the paper of the drum'?

I use one, comes in handy when 1st fixing new builds. Once you've pulled a few meters off the drum I don't really have a prob plus it's normally full up with drums across the whole length of the spooler.

A good way to cheer the day up,is to mount your cable reel,on an old 50lb class boat rod, feed the cable through the rings, and have the apprentice point the rod at you,as you strip off what you need...you have to smile, when he says "we're gonna need a bigger boat..." :cool3:
