I'm trying to ascertain the "normal" warranty (parts and labour) offered by sole trader electricians:confused:

"Normal" warranties are around 12 months materials and labour.

Warranties against compliance with Part P are provided by the schemes.

Jason thanks for the reply, and I understand what you say about Part P and Buildings Regs, but your statement about 12 months (parts and labour) suprises me. If a component fails after 8 months say; and you go and take out the old and arrange for a repalcement and then fit the repalcement.... and you would do it for free ?

i know this is an old post - but has anyone got any terms and conditions for warranty cover.

I just want something as back up so if they mess with the installation or nothing connected to the work I done then it wont come under the warranty

Also are we allowed to charge a fee to extend this warranty - similar to an insurance plan - or would be need to go through an insurance company for this?
