Morning, do u need to produce a separate fire alarm cert for niceic if I am just adding an extra smoke to existing system. I understand if it was a new install grade D domestic then I would complete a full cert for that. Do I have to fill in a minor works like you do for an alteration to an electrical circuit?
Thanks

As far as I understand when I last checked some time ago, believe it or not, Smoke/Fire Alarms are not covered under the IET Regulations unless part of a main panel.

Any 230V wiring will come under the regs, but not the detectors themselves.

You need a minor works cert or EIC for any 230V work, but OP asks about a “fire alarm cert for NICEIC”

I wouldn’t think NIC is interested in a fire alarm cert, just that the electrics are done right.
