fire alarm in a stable

Does anyone know if there is anything on the market that would allow me to wire a conventional fire alarm system in a stable and then connect a sounder to the owners house via a radio link?

could you use one of those autodiallers . program the house no. and mobile nos. into it? that's if you can get a phone line there, of course.

Not too good on fire alarms but I think you could add a translator to your wired system connect to a wireless output that would activate a wireless sounder in the house (depending on the distance to the house).
However I think it would be cheaper to install a totally wireless system and just have a remote sounder in the house.

Ei, which you will almost certainly find at your wholesaler or Meteor on here, do a wireless baseplate. The problem is that you don't want to have a sounder in a stable block (which I get the impression you know already) as that will just spook the horses even more. Worthwhile having a look for them online to see if they do a silent remote one.

Thinking about it, try looking for a disability / Part M compatible one for deaf people - they have a flasher, and you could always take the bulb out!

what id do is fit a menvier radio tx (model 703r) next to the fire panel,use the fire relays to trip the tx,the tx can be powered by batterys only or just fit a small 12v psu,the rx (model 762r) would go in the house,you will need a small 12 v psu to power this,it has built in op's to fire a sounder,depending on how far the house is away the range should be fine,if not fit a high gain antenna,and as rock says no internal sounders in stable blocks,fit an external sounder strobe for local indication

If this stable is a dusty environment, the clients need to be made aware of the high occurance of false alarms from optical and ionisation heads. Iv'e have had loads of problems on existing installations all cause by dust contamination. Some manufacturers make heads that are designed for such conditions, obviously a little more expensive than the standard heads....

id fit ror heads,smokes will fa all the time,unless you clean them daily,

Not sure if R of R units are appropriate in wooden structures. I guess it depends on how well the structure is insulated, especially the roof...

smokes wont work,will fa too much which will end up with the panel getting down powered,fixed heat will be a risk as stables tend to be cold draughty places so you cant rely on it reaching a fixed temp,so its ror for me,and id double the protection to compensate for the conditions.

Well you could always go for infrared beam type, lol!!

What about a conventional panel with ionisation detectors and a beacon at the stable and an interface connected to the auxilliary relay that is a radio link to a reciever in the house that signals a sounder. Does anyone know if that sounds feasable or if there is anything out there already that can do this?

isnt that what you asked in the first place,ion' detectors will fa with the dust generated in that environment, a strobe will do in the stable block to alert anyone in it,but if the house is unoccupied you still need some local indication if no one is in the stable block
