Can I ask a quick question, if you are installing LV down lighter in a bedroom and the loft contains insulation should you cover them with heat protectors? I feel that they should be, but a colleague of mine thinks you wouldnt need to as you would keep the insulation away from then. But I feel that the home owner could at some point move the insulation near it either directly or inadvertently... I would of thought that it is better to air on the side of caution.

The heat protectors are a good idea but no matter what you do the insulation monkeys are going to come along and cover everything in another layer of tickly wool. It boils my wee that we have to be aware of and comply with any amount of building regs but the monkeys don't seem to know anything about cables and their insulation
