Hi all,

Hope you're all keeping well.

We're having a first electrical inspection soon and was looking for some advice please on how best to prepare. Has anyone had an initial inspection recently, and if so, what kind of questions or angles does the inspector look/go for. I'm confident on the testing side of it (Far from an expert on it) but any other advice on how best to prepare would be much appreciated.

Kind regards.

They will check your Test Record Sheet against tests which they will have you perform in front of the Inspector. There's a fair chance you'll be asked to problem a whole installation insulation resistance test as part of this. Obviously in terms of inspection they will ensure that none of the Wiring Rules have been breached. You'll need a copy of I.S. 10101:2020 and also for audit calibration certificates for test equipment.
