Hi all,

Please could someone tell me if the heights of switches and socket outlets to a new build applies to an extention. I know if it is a rewire to an existing dwelling it does not apply.

Many thanks Mick

No the requirements are for new dwellings you are working on an extension to an existing dwelling so they do not apply.

Hope that helps you

Chris

Part M DOES NOT affect extensions, rewires or alterations in domestic dwellings.

Therefore the socket and switch heights can match existing and do not need to be between 450 & 1200mm from ffl.
