Hi i completed a full apprentiship and have been working on the tools. For a while now ive been wanting to get into the estimating side. I've been looking for a trainee electrical estimator role but i can't find any in the londo area. I was hoping some one will have any advice or even know of any agencies that could help me in my job search. Thanks or looking and any advice would be much appreciated.

It's a difficult thing to get into from the start, I had a few months as an apprentice and ended up in the estimating department for 2 years-the most boring 2 years of my life!

These days more than ever, immense responsibility is placed on the estimator to prepare winning bids that are delivered on time and make a healthy margin.

Here's 1 vacancy just from a quick search... Junior Electrical Estimator, London, United Kingdom, En-Spiral Recruitment, 04 Jul, 2011 - JobisJob UK

Just to let you guys know aint heard anything back!! But ... I did find another vacancy and applied today. Also anybody know what sort of duties i might have to do?? Cheers again!!

Lol making tea isn't one ive been doing it for 5 months now and all good apart from they want to now train me up as a quantity surveyour but thanks alot for your help guys.

Lol i won't lie i do drink too much of the free tea but they cant be arsed paying for quantity surveyours to come in so they want me to go to uni 1 day a week and to do it whilst still working my way up in estimating. A bit baffeling and questionable but a day off at uni every week dont sound to bad lol
