Hi all,
I want to register with a scheme provider Pref NIC, I am upto date on my regs and aquired 2391 last year. My problem is getting my head round the assesment jobs needed? I have a couple of jobs lined up to do, one being a CU change which should be suitable, Do I have to do this job through the local building control and pay their extortionate fee's then have that signed off by them before showing it to NIC assesor or would the job be covered by the assesment?
Seems like I could be spending a fortune to building control and NIC before I even see anybody from either organisation?
I live in the Swindon area if this helps, Any info would be appriciated.

i changed the consumer unit in my own house, then changed a water bonding to 10mm2, so one notifiable job and a minor work, you can notify the council later, but for the NIC, these two jobs are enough

If you wanna save yourself £300 do it then tell them after. Brucelee has had a mare with this. im doing my assesment with elecsa next week i rang them and asked about there views. They said i should do it that way, BUT i wont be asked about this on my assesment. If you ring and tell them its for a assesment they can be right funny about it. I wont be paying the £300 so i ll keep you posted after my assesment :)
