I need to re-route some circuits from one surface mount panel to another. There is a 4” gap between the two. I want to use 1” PVC or EMT. Because of the limited space, I am looking for suggestions for a legal, secure method.

Can't tell you what's acceptable in the US, but in the UK PVC would be fitted with a female adaptor on each end, with bush threaded into each end through panels. With steel conduit the option would be to use flange couplers (or running coupler if fitting to fixed threads, but I doubt if wall of EMT is heavy enough to thread in this way).

Perhaps @Megawatt or @norcal might pick up on this and provide acceptable solutions.

Use couplings on both ends of your pipe which will slide between the panels, then use bushings to secure
