Induction Hob Connection

I appreciate i need a qualified electrician but this is just to assist with a buying decision.
We considering induction hob that requires 32amp supply.
Existing electric oven is connected to switch with socket that can be seen at following link:

Will the plug socket on this cooker switch be 32amp and take the hob connection?
if not could the feed to this switch be used to feed the Hob?
or do we need a new cable from the fuse-box?

So are you saying that you are going to plug the induction hob in to this socket? If so then no as it will only have a 13A fuse in plug top. New supply will be needed I'm afraid.

Would the supply to the Cooker switch be able to be split and a connection to the hob taken off it? Or would it need to back to the fuse box?

In all likelihood your cooker cable will be 6mm. If your ind hob is pulling up to 32 amps then that is enough for that one circuit as the MCB at the board should only be 32A. You need a seperate supply to be run in from fuse board and leave the existing cable to run the oven as is.

And there was us thinking we'd save fitting charges (compared to gas hob) by just being able to plug in an induction hob. oh well....

I suggest you need to check with the manufacturer but I think that induction hobs have a reasonable current draw and that will require its own supply. Smaller ignition hobs can run on plug tops but I think yours will be beefier.

Why does he ned to run a new supply if he already has a 6mm going to that cooker switch?

Cos he is using that for his existing oven (which is staying)

You need to check the power rating of the existing oven and the new hob. (some ovens only use 13A and are very often taken off the 30A supply (cooker outlet changed to 13A socket or plug cut off and connected to break out) but I agree with Cirrus. You probably need to get a spark to run a new 6mm (30Amp) feed specificaly for the hob.
