Just wondering if anybody has any materials that can help me get the understanding of everything?

Lighting, Emergency Lighting, diagrams, 3 phase, single phases.

Trying to expand my knowledge, so when I'm at work and I'm told to do something I have a better understanding.

It is difficult in a forum post to be able to provide the sum knowledge of all electrical theory or even that relating to lighting and phases.

I think you would need to take things step by step and ask specific questions to gain understanding of smaller areas.

does anyone have any site diagrams that show where all appliances should go in the house or office
Again a bit wide ranging, the position of appliances is not fixed it is dependent on the building design.
Or are you asking for diagrams showing appliances?

sorry very badly put. i meant just a general diagram that they give you on site to work from. i want to study it more and get used to them...my gaffer keeps all of the diagrams i dont take any home...

Just google electrical installation plans on images and find ones you like.

Just make sure you find one with a matching legend!

This one is american but is pretty similar to a basic UK one. You will see all kinds of different examples in a domestic install from a perfectly laid out architect's diagram to a hand drawn scrawl on the back of a cupboard door!

Would have a better example but as you can probably imagine I'm not at the office at the moment!

Thanks Resu, for some reason the ones i see on site are much more complicated with 5amps, speakers, data points this and that. This one seems nice and simple to follow. I work on commercial builds if anyone does have any drawings from the UK would appreciate it...I googled them richard but very poor quality images cannot make out anything.
