To all Uk Solar Installer members.

After the post "very quiet" I thought I'd take this opportunity to have a look through all the listed installers web sites. It appears only two members, and these being the founders, have links on their web sites back to the solar installer web site.

One reason for starting UK Solar Installers was to pool resources. Open up a larger front for us all. By adding a back link off your own website we build strength on the search engines. This not only helps UKSI but also your own website. Action like this is FREE and is a very easy thing to do without the need for costly SEO. By adding back links to UKSI site we all mutually benefit. Building strength on the search engines is key to development and it is one of the simplest and FREE things to do.

Unless we can start to get things going we will have to look at charges to cover fees for SEO development, which may put some off.

So PLEASE can I ask for back links on all your sites. Lets build this up and not let it run a very short rock road. There is work out there for all of us. We just need to open our shop doors a bit wider.

Duly noted Mark - no website yet but are going to get one in the near future and will add a link when we are up and running.
thanks again for your help
Derek

I'd be keen to get signed up. I'm just building our site at the moment but I'll be signing up and linking shortly. Great idea and good work!

I'm not sure if I've missed something but Mark et al's website is by installers for customers not at all the same as solarmonster which looks like yet another lead generation site. There's a clear difference in the approach from Mark's site - they know what they are talking about and when you ring you get to speak to someone who knows what they are talking about not someone who wants to sell a lead.

Nothing wrong with either I suppose, but it's like comparing apples and oranges and if I was a customer I know which one I'd prefer.

Hi Mark,
I'm new to the forum, but would like to join the list too. PM on the way shortly.
Cheers
Colin

head over to *************************

EDIT: censored? really?

I can't get my head round why the UK Solar Installers web address is now censored! I have asked via Lenny who kindly replied saying some new software may be blocking it.

It would be nice to know if theres any thing we can do to rectify this.

For some reason the UKSI web site is now censored? but it reads like www dot UK solar installers dot co dot uk have a look and if its for you register on there.

Just thought I'd throw this out there, when Summit Skills, the S.J.I.B. etc and all the other concerned bodies in Scotland get on the same page, the only people who will be allowed to install PV systems in Scotland will be time served sparks who have successfully gained the relevant additional qualifications i.e. SQA Unit/s.
Yet another typically well thought out direction from Scottish brains, so if you're getting this work done south of Hadrian's wall check that the installers aren't wearing cowboy boots instaed of 'steelies'. You've been warned.

To all,

I would like to thank all those involved with the initial set up of the UK Solar Installers web site and to those who saw what we were trying to achieve.

Due to the recent workloads to all those involved the site has been left dormant over recent weeks and months and no one person is to blame for that. As you will all appreciate times have been hectic.

For those who have visited the site in the recent weeks you will of seen the vast sums of hacked spam posts advertising alsorts of items and websites.

Due to the vast numbers of these it has been decided to retract the website as soon as possible and suspend its services until further notice.

I would again like to thank all those involved with the site and to the support offered in its set up. A special thank you to Rob who's hard work went into the site design and to his own cost the set up and launch. Also a thank you to all those who showed interest and made the effort to support our activities online in the form of our own forum. The posts made I'm sure helped all and I know they certainly helped me. Again I thank you.

For anyone now reading this sticky who has an interest in the site please no further PMs to me on this mater as stated the site is no more. Sorry.

sorry grumps, must have read it wrong

Haha, sticks and stones! Wife calls me worse.

My point was our website was set up to combat the need for lead generation services and if you had seen it you would of taken note of that. Rather than jumping in with both feet to advertise your site.

Seems you must sponsor the forum also as your web link hasn't been removed due to censorship. Where as the post after yours advertising a new site has since been removed!

We may need to raise this with mods (who do Stirling work)

Now who's the grump again!

You should take a look.... It's rather basic 1990's web design... Can't imagine any potential customer wanting to use it!

I was about to take you to task re being critical of someone's work, after all how would you like it etc? But I thought it wise to have a quick shifty before firing off, just as well I did. Now I feel I should come out in support of your well thought out critique. It's a pile! Just another lead generation site with no added value.
