I need to install a 110V outlet in my fireplace for a zero clearance insert.

There is an exsiting outlet 4 feet to the left of the fireplace. I would like to drill through the side of the fireplace into the wall space and run the wire to the outlet.

Given the insert is zero clearance, are there any issues I need to be aware of? I plan on using a metal box and face plate.

Thanks.

The only thing I would worry about is the heat being put off by the fireplace. If you already have a receptacle on one side then you should be able to install another one on the other side
