Hi all,

I'm a homeowner and purchased a TP-link HS200 smart switch. When I took it out, I noticed that it came with wires attached already, and but the wires are stranded aluminum instead of solid copper and has 16 AWG written on the plastic coating. Is this safe or allowed that it's not 14 AWG copper on a 15amp circuit? The switch claims to be rated for 15A general use and 5A incandescent. I live in Canada if that helps

I suspect they are tinned copper not aluminium as aluminium will just break off.

I see, the exposed end of the wire does feel like it's all stuck together with something
