Discuss Is it OK to fit a socket with edges to a rounded surface mounted pattress box in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

The edges would be classed as 'sharp' objects, the wiring regulations show these edges could cause injury or even death. Never experiment with electricity.

No, doesn't comply with manufacturers instructions to use the manufacturers pattress. Also make sure your using the correct screws and sleeving as per the manufacturers instructions

absolutely fine to use a square edged socket with a soft edge surface mounted box. Does look a bit pants though a Dave said.

Do not worry...if,say your tenant,decides to replace all the plastic face-fronts,with chrome plates,and they stand proud to a degree...because they can employ a plasterer to skim these in,like a dozen shiny boils...fixed for an eternity...:uhoh2:
