Discuss Joining Elecsa in the Certification NICEIC, NAPIT, Stroma, BECSA Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

I have got more and more private work and the chap that I rely on to issue certs (I test and complete paperwork and he submits under his NIC reg) is looking a bit wonky. Elecsa is cheap to join (£360 +vat) but I appreciate it won't happen overnight. Can I hold back certs to put through them if/when I am accepted? What is the best way to do this as the customers will want certs at some point.

i joined elecsa i found them pleasant and helpful, not out to fail or trip you up but to offer advise to point you in the right direction.
you have one month to submit your certificates from completion of the job your client then gets a letter through the post to say you have registered their job.

I rang them up with the same intent, explained my situation and spoke to a very nice, helpful chap. I explained that my testing was done for the company I work for who are NIC. He just said to copy a few of the test certs and the assessor would chat about them with me when the time came.

I'm currently holding back on joining because the certifiable work seems to have run dry at this precise moment, plus I'm waiting to do 17th first if possible.
