Evening all....

Just seeing if anyone has got any suggestions...

Got a first fix to do and part of it is the containment for the hdmi leads from TV on wall down to unit below.... going in behind the wall... if that makes sense.

Was going to stick a short length of 2" waste pipe in with a couple of 90 bends on each end, but rather than having cut off pipe stubs sticking out the wall top and bottom is there something I can finish it off with a bit neater ? Was thinking something like one those 'bung things' that are at the back of office desks sometimes to drop the cables below?

Or any alternative methods that you may use..... it is a stud wall which is going to be filled with cellotex.

Thanks Sy....:D

hmmmm.

Im assuming the cables are not to be installed until 2nd fix?

If so, how about 40mm waste pipe with 22.5 deg bends on each end.

You ay have trouble trying to get the plugs of the hdmi's round 90 deg.

Then you may be able to drill a suitable size hole in a couple of either single or twin blank plates.

Just trying to conjure up a solution in my head
Terminate a flexible conduit into a metal box and use a cooker outlet plate to dress the cables out from the box

Liking the hdmi outlets, but that would mean buying an hdmi cable the correct length to fit behind it, as there may not be enough room to coil any surplus.

Dont forget, they may be more than one, plus others.

I would put 1 HDMI outlet behind TV, 1 down below and buy an HDMI splitter for the equipment to plug into.

I would probably then go with NovusSparkus idea for any other cable (SCARTS etc.)

Into a normal back box then out through a brushplate if possible. i went to a TV the other day with wires just hanging out of the wall. Customer is blind (RNIB have a teletext talking box before anyone asks). I had to smash out a pound of plaster, clean off the wires, install a box and plate. Was installed by some TV fitter chap who had perhaps run out of boxes that day.

Brilliant lads, always wondered how to do this neatly. Never seen those brush plates before.

Was thinking something like one those 'bung things' that are at the back of office desks sometimes to drop the cables below?

Only last week a kitchen fitter I work with had used these for bringing the appliance plug tops into the units, I thought that was a nice touch.

Was intending to leave the run accessable so cables can be run in/out as required at a later date..... thanks for all your replies some good ones there.... liking the brushed plates reckon I can do something with a couple of them, just seen they also come in a double, would also be ideal to use where I 've got a a bunch of cat6's coming out the wall.

Cheers then Sy
