LED lamp colour.

Is it possible to buy GU10LED lamps that give a warm yellow type glow like halogens, rather than the white light of LEDs?

Yes warm white is the closest you will get to halogen light. It's still whiter than halogen, but halogen yellow looks awful anyway.

Look for "very warm white" there are various makes about Sylvania, GE, Megaman. They are 2700K.
