I have spoken to a chap this morning that's has recently had his kitchen lights replaced with LED mr16s by utility warehouse. Since the change if the lights are turned on whilst the DAB radio is on it completely stops any signal.
Has anyone come across this before. I was wondering if changing for GU10s would sort out the problem...
TIA

Interference from LEDs is a fairly common problem and depends largely on the drive circuitry within the units. Cheap units have a tendancy to be more problematic.

Found this article which looks like it gives some good info:-

Possible Solutions to LED Lights Causing Electromagnetic Interference (EMF/ RF) - https://reductionrevolution.com.au/blogs/news-reviews/118469381-possible-solutions-to-led-lights-causing-electromagnetic-interference-emf-rf

I think the moral of the stories I've read is buy good quality branded products and it's less likely to happen. I doubt Utility Warehouse will do that as the more they spend on lamps, the less profit they will have.

first thing to determine is have the MR16's had their transformers replaced with LED drivers.

I suspect its also to do with a poor radio signal too....my site radio gets interferance from the battery charger on a regular basis and I've also noticed that charging my iphone in my vehicle can also affect the FM signal - these issues are not uncommon.....

probably a techno innovation to blot out that horrendous station, radio 1.

I'm subjected to that horrendous radio stn, when on site working with young thrusters. Is only when I'm on my lonesome, that I can listen to Smashie and Nicey, on Radio FAB FM.

Edit video too long, so deleted it, me great mate. Poptastic

retro fitting an MR16 lamp on an old 12v transformer is quite unreliable, i would do away with the old transformer and have a GU10 socket installed and buy a good quality lamp.
