So, I arange for my colegue to meet me at 07:30 on this Saturday morning.....

off for a day of dreaded PAT,

however the customer had virtually begged me to come and do it as he was desperate to have it done urgently!

HE WAS NOT THERE!!!!

Faied tp turn up, the nice people at the wherhouse made us coffee and quite understandably would not allow us to carry out our requested task....They tried unsucessfully to contact the manager involved so phoned another, he asked me to reschedual the work.

My question is am I wrong in planning to send an email explaining why I do not wish to reschedual and where they can stick the green stickers???

What a ----er and what a waste of your time. Send him an email and an invoice for your wasted time.
 
i once wasted a full day travelling to a job with a colleague got there and the manager wanted to be awkward with access to certain parts only, no keys to board room etc. full price went in for the invoice though, easy days graft but annoying still the same. the manager got a bit of a stuffing from head office for two sparks travelling 170 miles on a Saturday for nothing

Having specifically requested that my apprentice join me for this Saturday morning, as you had told me the PAT testing was urgently required, I have still had to pay his wages!

Fortunately, I have many other commitments at present and am unable to reschedule your required work at this time and would suggest you make alternative arrangements.

Please thank your kind staff who made us very welcome and supplied us with coffee, they also tried to no avail to contact you.

I did think about it.....

We went on to another job, one of those 'as and when' rewires so it didnt cost me too much.

I think perhaps I should have done! Too soft!!!/Stupid


Having said that, after wittnessing grannysmiffs terminating today I am going to rename him the bloomin terminator!!!!!!

Bring back the plasterers, decorators and possibly the victorians to replace their lathes.......Nice one GS!!!

And you know I am only joking as it was me that ended up with a socket outlet I could put my head in.......

thing with them having to pay for something they don`t feel they have benefited from is they tend to only let you down once, glad you didn`t loose the full day
 
I'm gonna suggest an invoice also. I don't have a 'call out fee' unless it's an emergency and out-of-hours, when I think it's reasonable. This was definitely an 'emergency' job, he dragged you out when you didn't want to go, out of normal working hours, I would be sending a substantial invoice, but at least send something covering your fuel and app's wages.
