Hi guys. I’ve just take over a job that had been already started. It’s 7 light industrial units that have supplies already wired underground in 25mm 4 core. The client wants 7 meters at the mains which is all well and good but the question is.... The previous spark said he was going to put a 3phase board in suppling the 7 meters all with 63amp breakers and the board fed by 35mm tails. Is that a big enough supply for 7 light industrial units?Apparently there won’t be much going in the units but I don’t want to commit to that as in the future who knows what will be added. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Get the customer to put in writing what they will be utilising the units for and you can then do your design calculations and get them to sign off on it so there is no future comeback (which you seam concerned about)?

Why did the first spark not finish the work?

He / she /they must have been working to a spec or brief supplied by the owner / builder / developer, do you have a copy of that?

You're limited to the existing cables unless the owner etc wants to pay for upgrading them.
You can't be a Psychic and know what's required in the future, it's not your problem.
Presumably these units don't have tennants yet.

Light industrial can be anywhere from 1 person in a unit with a few lights and boxes of stock to a couple of dozen people all using machinery.
Generally the future use of a unit is restricted by the existing service sizes unless the tennant wants to pay to upgrade, if it was possible.

Why did the first spark not finish the work?

And I bet there's a Farmer involved in this somewhere.
