Hello

I am down to my last 24V battery now. Has anyone had one of the copy's off fleebay. Are they any goods. Drill is in good working order so begrudge getting rid of it but seems only choice due to original battery prices.

Not 24v but I bought an 18v copy for about half price of an original.
It didnt last long and now in the bin, charger rejects them fairly quickly.
I charge my 18v duds from my laptop charger but its a pita.
So, dont waste your money.

i've got 2 of them drills. fantastic tool. only pity is they're not Li-Ion.

you can re-cell them yourself, just buy some cheap batteries online then solder them in (if its a Ni-Cad.

3a 18v makita batteries can be had for £50 but need to look around (there is an adapter to use 2 in there 36v sds)

I wouldn't waste your money on a copy, I did and got the mickey taken out of me on site. I thought I grabbed a bargain and told them I got it half price of an original, 3 months later it stopped holding a charge and I ended up eating humble pie and buying a genuine one

There is a company called buy a parcel . com which I have bought Genuine Makita Batteries from in the past at the right sort of money, all the copies I have come across don't last...... It is so annoying that they rip you off on the batteries and change the shape every time a new model comes out. I use a Hitachi drill for that reason as the batteries are interchangeable. Often, it is better to buy a kit and flog the spare drill body on fleabay..... sad eh?

Agreed, Love my BHR Makita 24V drill bought it second hand bare with 2 x2.0Ah batts (1 working, 1 dud). Recelled dud battery myself £40 for 20 replacement 4/5AA batteries (only 2 dud cells in battery but better safe than sorry).

Good battery lasted another 2 years and last year I recelled it too, original recelled battery still going strong.

Only takes an hour to recell a battery yourself with the right tools. I can point you in the direction of a good company (If the forum allows) for replacement cells to repair cordless drill batteries.

Oh and as this is my first post, Hello to everyone in this thread.
