Morning fellas. Having bought my Megger 1730 from Test Meter in October 2012 i was wondering whether i should calibrate it in October 2013 or in July 2013 as that is the 'Date Tested' on the Megger certificate that came with unit? My mind is saying July just keep the records straight but i am after clarification. Sorry if this is a common question but i cant forum search on my phone

ELECSA told me they accept 12 months from purchase date, if you can show them the invoice. Don't know what Megger thinks about that though.

Megger calibration certificates have a date commissioned box for you to fill in for this exact reason. Sure it could have been manufactured more than 12 months before you purchase it. Go by the date it was commissioned. I have always done this and no-one has ever questioned the validity of my calibration certificates.

Risteard is correct ^^

Most electrical test equipment supplied with a calibration certificate has a 'date commissioned' field for you to date and sign. Your annual period of calibration is valid from this date, regardless of when the test equipment was manufactured.
