I have an old panel that produces 8 x 240v outputs to signal lamps, I wish to use these outputs to run a mimic panel a distance away, I need 110v to deal with the volt drop, but dont want 240v at the mimic, thinking of 240v relays in the master panel and running a multicore swa carrying my signals from a 110 control supply, anything on the market that will make this job easier without using radio signals.

its not a safety circuit as in control, but the indication has to fail to safe
[h=2][/h]ie power loss what would you see, or cable is cut shorted etc

You seemed set on using 110v instead of ultra low 5v or 12v, and using multicore. Signal switching will eliminate voltage drop, and 200m or 300m can easily be achieved using standard control cable

That's not a bad idea if I can fire relays at 12v over that distance, and 12v leds would be fine too
The idea is to switch signals which inturn switch relays, and if fail or cables are damage go in fail safe....this is the basic principle of a security alarm, switching micro Amps on a door contact, hence no worries on voltage drop, or heavy cable use

so if i have the 240v signals operating relays in the control panel I can then have a nice little 240/12 tx to run 12v through those relay contacts, giving me my 8 12v signals heading down my multicore which in turn can operate 8 12v relay coils in my mimic with which I can produce lots of outcomes, especially if i intoduce a backup supply locally

some require two signals to be present before showing indication, there will be two colours interlocked only one and not the other etc, that's simple once I have my relays in the mimic with a signal to each one

Well again logic switching before the relay can be used......if this is only for indication purposes then no relays are required, on the mimic panel, just basic 30p logic 4000 series ic`s they can drive leds on there own
