Hi Guys, we've got a customer who has demolished a bungalow and rebuilt into a house, they want to know the rate if the government loses Supreme Court case. Under the new rates new/retro are 21p but wasn't sure what constitutes a NEW BUILD, it’s not a new supply....

Many thanks

I think the rule is, new build means "fitted to a building that isn't currently occupied". If he has been living there, he will be considered retrofit - I think....

The intent of the 'new build' category is that it should apply to PV that is installed as the house is being built. Therefore costs are expected to be lower as access to roof is in place and fitting can progress in tandem with the roof covering installation.

If the new house has already been built then the retro-fit tariff should apply. The trigger point would be if Building Control have signed off the house for occupation as that can provide the paperwork evidence.
