New Outside Light - connections different

hi all

I have just bought two new spotlights and the existing has live, live 1, earth and neutral, but the new lights have live, earth and neutral.

Can the 4 connections go into 3?

Two spotlights, sensor triggered and switch in kitchen (mains connected.)

In the second picture have you put the black in with the blue ?

agree. think the black has a brown sleeve, and appears to connect to 1 side of the load, so will be a SW/L. for manual override.

Not connected as not like for like and thought two live together would be ok but wondering if the other light (existing) is tripping board out as L2 connected

That will go bang when you turn it on with black and blue together

Can you out 4 wires into a 3 wire circuit? The current outdoor lights have 4 and new only 3. No L1 on new light so where does L1 feed into or not at all

You could get rid of the switch in the kitchen and let them work solely on the pir

Put the brown in a seperate connector and put the black in the live terminal so you can turn it off by the switch if its getting nuisance triggered.
