Discuss NIC Part P Assessment & The Building Control Authority in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

I agree entirely, terrible for the sector. I am not sure why NAPIT and Stroma have agreed to do this, it does not make financial sense I wouldn't have thought. Fair enough they get another £50 from a member but they will lose overall registrations.

Its about the bigger picture mate, they get a lot more exposure through Building Control when home owner/diy do their own work and need a Certificate, BC direct people to either scheme.

That will increase membership purely on the basis there are plenty of of Electricians out there who concentrate on nothing other than Test & Inspection work and take on the above.

The down side is, Domestic Installers from all schemes will get hit hard in the pocket because small builders will want to screw them down on prices even more because they can get a Certificate easier for anything they do themselves. A lot builders done their own basic wiring before Part P.

That is kind of you. I need to work on other members trust also. I also need to apologise to a few.

I was a complete gob sh!te when I first come on here when I didn't like the response from a few people on a thread I started, and to be fair they were correct and I was wrong (I ended up with a ban). I feel that now I have hopefully redeemed myself lol.

...What has this thread developed in to? ...if i remember, the number of medals Muttley got, never helped him win a wacky race...:icon12:

...True,and no matter how many accolades, his "Governing Body" (Dastardly),pinned on his chest,he never got "pigeon competent".... there's a moral in there somewhere...:icon12:
