I’ve got a lovely set of Boddingtons long nose pliers with no serrations for just that purpose.i usually fold the cores over as it feel it gives a better connection , I winced at him biting them together using his side cutters,

This was the electric driver I recall being OK for terminals as it stops driving at 0.4Nm. Not cheap mind:
