Hi All,

Just joined on here, so hi all :)

So i've had my garden landscaped and now i'm looking at lighting, i've bought these lights:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01C4CKACY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

with these bulbs:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00XJH2MD4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

So my questions:

Is normal flex wire ok from the light down the fence post? if so would I need any conduit etc?? and then into a juction box, from junction box to junction box i'd used armoured cable, i've attached a diagram of how I see it in my head.

TIA
Ritesh

Disclaimer: Not an electrician: I believe white PVC flex cable is more vulnerable to degradation from sunlight etc. in comparison to black rubber? I had to run a small length of outdoor cable for some spotlights and bought this from screwfix:

Thanks, it does say on the description it’s suitable for outdoor, it’s only going from light to junction box so very minimal chance of it getting damaged, I’ll just use some masonry clips to secure it.. thanks pal.. I’m sure someone else will reply if my diagram will work

you can't install armoured cable on a plug. and 2.5mm flex is too big. you need 1.0mm flex all the way, clipped to a wallor whatever, not biried.

So no armoured cable required for what I’m doing? Would I need to put the 1.0mm flex into anything? I could put it in ducting then gravel on top, would that be ok?

you could put it in 20mm flexible conduit and use wiska boxes for the junctions to the lights. the wiska boxes need to be above ground.

diagram is OK. wiska boxes are pre threaded for 20mm glands or the ends you get with a trade pack of 20mm flex conduit.

Do the below items look ok:

Cable for all wiring:
https://www.NoLinkingToThis/p/time-...um/88820#product_additional_details_container

Junction box for each light:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/COOLWEST-W...eywords=1.5mm+wiska+box&qid=1603664023&sr=8-2

Conduit for cable:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Black-Kope...lja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ&th=1

The junction boxes will be secured to bottom of fence post, the cable from the junction box in conduit would this be ok if i was to have a little trench and bury then cover with gravel (just so its hidden) its going to run across some sleepers (will use some clips to keep it secure) then under a flag and into the house where i'll terminate on a 13AMP plug then plug this into my Wi-Fi plug.

Sound ok?

Hi. You will need 3 way junction boxes for all except the last light surely?
Like these perhaps:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0881LPR1K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_ObHLFbQG4SHT8?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

I ran cable and enclosed it in flexible black conduit. This protects cable from squirrels and other pests and keeps out water. You need to ensure that any connection points fit. Another run was attached to a wooden fence arris rail and covered in plastic cable guards.
