Hi

Looking for some advice please.

Keep having issues with flickering lights, some devices such as dehumidifier "stuttering" because power supply appears to be poor.

All the internal wiring in my property has been checked in the past and any issues fixed e.g. new RCD consumer unit, earth wiring fixed etc.

I have systematically gone round the house over the last few weeks isolating / disconnecting all my internal appliances to rule out anything I have plugged in internally.

I have a UPS connected for my computer equipment and the logs for this report the issues as either electrical noise or blackout, but the power doesn't go out completely e.g. the lights can flicker, the UPS beeps to register an issue but if I am watching TV etc then doesn't affect it.

The strange thing about this and why I wonder if it is a supply issue rather than anything internal is that I can go literally weeks/months without it happening at all, and then like last night I have periods where it literally drives me crazy as it does it every few minutes / even seconds.

Any thoughts please? is it something I need to contact my supplier (e.on) about? are they likely to actually listen / do anything?

Yes, they need to investigate. They have a duty of care to make sure that A, they give you an uninterrupted supply, and B, any faults don’t start a fire.

If you have had an electrician in already, with a written report to say the installation itself is sound, then the problem must be with supply.

Maybe have a check with a number of neighbours to see if they have same problems.
