power usage of equipment

hi,can anyone answer this question,when calculating max load on a circuit some equipment ie washing machine the power rating is given in kwh,how can this be used as im only after kw,thanks

not sure but i think that the kwh is the manufacturers idea of saying how many kw it will use in 1 hour, allowing for varying load during heating/washing cycles. as most appliances of this kind have a 2.2kw heater, i would take this as your max. load.

I've never seen kWh listed on the info plate at the back of the machine. This would be ambiguous. Is there a max. current listed on the plate? If so I would rather work from that.
