I recently bought a simple welder for some basic hobby welding, it is a 110/220 welder and I would like to use it on the 220 I already have but I'm a bit unsure if the 220 outlet I have will be ok.
My main concern is that the welder has a Standard 110 US plug on it but comes with a Standard 110 US Female to 6-50 Male adapter. And I will need a "6-50R to 10-30P" adapter, which is fine but my concern is the wiring of the two plug types is different. The welder uses Live, Neutral and Ground for it's pins where as the Outlet uses Live, Live and Neutral.
Is this okay for the welder? Having two Lives instead of Live and Neutral, and the Neutral acting as the ground? I know that's how most if not all 3 pin 220 works if doesn't have a ground and from what little I could find this seems to be the way to go about this and supposedly works fine, however I just am not 100% sure how it works with the pins layout being different and would like some input or confirmation if possible.
