I have been asked to wire a garage its an new dwelling ,the client is wanting to change the garage into a dining room / play area for the kids , in the garage there is already a double skt but its half way up the wall it will pull back and could be used for a wall mounted tv skt , is it possible to radial off that final circuit fuse it down to a 13 amp and then put the rest of the skts in , its just the rest of the house is all decorated ,am i living in hope or is it possible cheers certa

need more info... is the socket as your post seems to imply a dedicated radial or is it a spur, part of a ring ????.... if it is already a dedicated radial to garage adding more sockets to it would be classed still as a radial circuit as long as you address all issues with alterations like rcd protection, mcb/rcbo rating etc.

the skt in the garage is on the kitchen ring its not a radial bud would i be able to fuse down and put the rest of the skts they will be wired in a 2.5mm pvc it also has a 30 ma rcd protecting circuit

I would clarify the kitchen ring with a testing also ensure the existing spur is a one point link into the ring, then yes you could exchange this socket for a fcu and run a radial of sockets, i would query as to how the suggested new area is to be heated etc, as this could influence whether the method would be suitable.

Edit ... soz just reread its not a spur but part of ring... then as above really without the existing spur reference.

you can spur off that socket to a fused spur and then wire from the load side of the fused spur a radial your wanting to do but they are all fused to the 13amps.

or you can split the ring and extend it round the garage to give a greater current capacity.
