lately I have seen so many people (including metal screw manufacturers etc) saying Rawl plugs are now banned from fixing cables under BS7671 and BS5839-1.
Problem is people’s interpretation of the standard, and unfortunately unless you are one of the few that writes the BS you may not get exactly what was meant.
Electrical Saftey First have done some question and answers on this and low and behold you are allowed Rawl plugs for cables. Myth busted.
