Replaced 3 gang light switch - switches now on when off

Hi everyone,
Just replaced a plastic 3 gang light switch for a metal flat plate. Took photo of old wiring layout and rewired exactly the same. Everything works except now the light switches are the wrong way round i.e. the lights are on when the switch is in the 'off' position and vice versa. Just can't figure out what's gone wrong. Can't simply rotate the plate as it has manufacturers name on it which would then be upside down! Can anyone help please?

Do each of the switches have three terminals with two being L1 and L2 or similar?

Further to westward…. If it is L1, L2… just move the cable from L1 to L2 or vice versa. One will stay unused if it’s just a one way circuit

They might be marked as L2 and L3…. It’s just different notation

Yes - L1, L2 and Com

Manufacturer is Schneider. Tried moving the cable from L1 to L2 but didn't change anything

Might help if you show a pic. Swapping from L1 to L2 should have changed it.

Is this switch similar?




The layout of the terminals are different for some other switches where Com is at the top and L1 and L2 are both at the bottom, creating a triangle of terminals.

If it’s like this, use Com for the live feed, and 1way for the switched live.
2way and loop are not used in this instance.
