Ring doorbell: options for video storage without subs

In my haste for a quick deal, I bought a Ring doorbell from CEF for when my daughter moves out, as a security device for her flat.

Realising now that I might need to pay for their cloud storage system.

There are some badly written “guides” on how to record on your phone as you view the live feed… or device dependant SD card local storage…. And all the Ring product website suggests is selling you a sub.

Anyone got a Ring without subscription? With an easy way to back up the videos locally?
