i don't blame the gov, these knob rots need to grow up. life what you make it i could of sold drugs made good money, or you could work washing plates and cups for £3.50ph as i did. il do any work if it means i can hold my head up. like my mum always said, "if you stole a pound. you don't respect its value, but if you work for it you look after it more" it so gets my goat, im out my house 12hrs aday 6/7days aweek. even Sundays to give my wife and kids a half descent life. and you have these low lifes driving brand new cars all the latest phones and whatever they have. at our expense. :nopity:

Just watching the coverage on BBC news 24 of the building in Croydon on fire.

Those poor *******s that have their business and homes burned down will probably not be covered by insurance, I bet the insurance companies are checking every bit of small print right now.

we dont need low life like that doing this, I say shoot them and put them on the fires!!

I say set the water cannons on em, but spray then with petrol not water and then set them on fire. But my preference would be to just machine gun the thieving scum down in the streets.

Cheers.........Howard

I was one of the poor sods trying to get home in Nottingham, so I should machine gunned then? I’ve heard some stite, just think of what your saying!

Hazel Blears being interviewed on Sky News earlier; "What we need to ask is why are these kids not at school?"

Clown

These idiots are so far out of touch its beyond belief. Look at some of the comments from people like Ken Livingscum and Hetty Harmon? What a joke! Even Boris is making himself look like a bigger clown than normal by waving that stupid broom about. I just hope that Davey Boy has the balls to follow though on his promises.

I haven't read all of the thread so apologies if this has already been mentioned...

At least the courts are dishing out tougher sentences, magistrates are referring cases to Crown Court because they can give harsher sentences.
Here in Manchester, one little 'word of your own choice' got 6 months for 'going equipped to commit burgalary' on his way to the riots. Normally he'd have probably just been let off with a caution. Tough -------, boy!

No1) I do not accept your 'institutional racism' idea as anything other than a figment of the left's imagination. Hence the rant about all the social ills being the fault of whites - which is EXACTLY what you are implying with your institutional racism rubbish.

I hope its nice out there in Ken world

No2) I was mearly trying to point out in my comparison between Brixton and Glasgow that even in the same socio-economical group you will still have people with diametrically opposite views, morals and aspirations.

No3) I did not say that there are NO black/asian role models - I asked 'where are all the black/asian role models' - I meant this in the context of where were they!

Why ? do you want to find some.

You do not need to reply Ken

Your posts say it all

about time.some pile of :001_9898: got 6months for nicking water, and the guys who killed that 68 yr man want hanging.
i also think who ever was out rioting when that old guy got killed. they should all get charged with accessory to murder. other then that ant looking forward to the PL season with arsenal there a chance they might be playing Millwall next yr:drunk:

They don't wanna fight though mate, just steal.

Military service/Conscription is probably the best idea I've heard yet by miles!!!
All this talk of stopping their benefits or booting them out their houses is just going to criminalise them even more.
The world's mental.

Good idea Brucie

It's no longer on the news here, have they finished breaking windows and stealing X-Boxes now?

Glad to hear it. I had to laugh the other day, we got an advisory e-mail from the SA Home Affairs Dept warning that it wasn't safe to go to the UK with the recent civil unrest, travelers with trips planned should postpone until further notice. So it's officially safer to be in Johannesburg than London at the moment. :)

After reading that lot I am at a loss almost what to say I work in London, Tottenham is a mess, Romford borne near there, the whole area is a quagmire, observations ? Easy to blame 'Afro Caribbean' kids not so easy to blame them when you look at the more Northern riots that were predominately White Brits, want answers I don't have them...Except to say some of the poorest people in this country, that come from ***** child hoods...like me and I suspect like a lot of fellas on here, we grafted, we got up early, we did paper rounds at stupid 0'Clock, we had self esteem, respect for law and order, and our parents, faultless they may not have been were there for us...When I look in the mirror each morning, I have my dignity and self respect I have raised two kids that have morals, and respect....and no one even some jerk off in a tracky can take that away from us

we had self esteem, respect for law and order, and our parents, faultless they may not have been were there for us...

A very significant observation there. I was like that back in the 70s, also the fear of being caught, I was a bit naughty now and again. I used to get beaten up by my teachers occasionally, usually for a bit of of back chat, but you'd just take it. Both sides knew where we stood, so basically I kept myself in order. These days the poor ****ing teachers can't lay a finger on them without being dragged through the courts.......result yobbo jnr sussies he can do what ever the hell he likes knowing no one can touch him. I blame the insidious Americianisation/litigation culture for that. And so it goes on with general crime, they usually get off with nominal sentences, result, they don't give a monkeys. These youths seem to have absolutly no respect for anyone or anything, a sorry state of affairs indeed, and if they increase in number from what they were 10 or 20 years ago the country is going to sink even further down the plug hole of inequality and anarchy.

Struth, ramble over. Off down Asda for some beer and my last ever pack of smokes.

Anyone watch bbc3 last night?they had a program putting the yoof point of view across.dear me.it's all about education initt.the same drongos who cant be arsed actually applying themselves to get educated in the first place.every one of them thinks it's their right to a job, higher education ,apprenticeship etc etc.missing the point that all this has to be achieved with a bit of application n not just handed to you.the youth of today is the man of tomorrow.I despair at that thought.

Hammer... Nail... Head... This is exactly what the problem is. Today's youngsters want it all... Now! Because of the tripe that the liberal education establishment promises, together with a mix of rampant materialism, these idiots do not see the value of hard work. So it is not surprising that they do not share any sense of common values with the rest of society, or strive for a common purpose. I know that by tradition teenagers have always been rebellious and anti-authority but some of today's kids are truely a law unto themselves. And it seems to me that there are now more bad ones than good ones - in certain areas anyway.

Aye, it's this mentality of 'the world owes ME a living etc' that slightly winds me up.
No it doesn't, if you want goodies get out there and work for them.
I have a dole bludging 'friend' (used in the losest possible terms) who thinks he doesn't have to work, has his holidays courtesy of the state...I'll stop there on that one!

As a post script to my post a few days ago..............

I was rambling about corporal punishment, my story...
I came from a 'good, fairly strict' home, Dad a Probation Officer, Mother a Social Worker AND an occasional Magistrate!
They'd let me do my own stuff but with a smidge of discipline!
Anyway, 1971-78 I went to the local public(or whatever they were called) school, I'm supposedly quite intelligent (hard to believe with some of crap I post on here) so was given a grant by the council to go there.
As I said before, I was out of order on quite a regular basis, nothing nasty just mischievous really, got caned countless times, 1st time about 13 I think, and suspended 3 times.
But, without all that, I would have almost certainly gone completely off the rails and left school at 16 with shag all qualifications and probably been a complete loser now. As it happens I got 9 O levels, 3 As and went to Uni where I had a fantastic time and met the wife of 30 years now.

That is benefit of allowing physical punishment (for me anyway and I'm not bitter or twisted in anyway whatsoever from having it)

Suppose the point I'm trying to make is, if someone like me (sounding like I'm something special etc, I'm not, just your average Joe really) could have ended up with nothing if I hadn't been punished what hopeless cat in hells chance do the youths of today stand with parents who don't give a monkeys what their kids are up to, except if a teacher lays a finger on them then 'GREAT we can sue the school for child abuse'

and now breath calmly

Next topic...This Nanny State we live in.

I'm off for 2 weeks, see y'all :)

I Went the other way. Had a really poor attendance record at school. Started off by skivving off occasionaly and once i realised nobody was going to punish me i did it all the time. Spent a lot aof time getting into mischief and finished up with an attendance record of less than 50%.
After leaving school with pretty decent grades(all bs and cs) i spent the next 3 years bumming around doing odd jobs befor lucking into an apprenticeship.

I couldnt agree more with the above post. What i really needed at that age was a good kicking and someone to make me focus on school.
Im doing pretty well now but could have done much more with my life if id just applied myself.

Good for you Grimy!

I forgot something, saw a BBC prog the other week where they were saying that adolescent brains go into complete overdrive and that's why they're the nutters they are! They need a good thrashing now and again!

yeah mate couldnt agree more i have 2 teenage daughters and always tried to teach them the morals i was taught I got up to things at school and whilst younger but when the teacher cracked you one or caned you it resulted in knowing were you stood and calming your attitude down I never went home and told me dad for the fear of getting another crack as i had done wrong
the times we have had to go in school over one thing and another like bullying etc etc is a joke my dad would have killed me after first time were todays kids seem to get away with everything and given everything instead of earning it and i truly cant rememeber him ever hitting me but remember the fear of god in case he did to me he was always a giant and someone to be scared of so i knew when to shut up and behave

Whatever your thoughts on the riots in England and who or what is to blame
My own belief is that in all of nature there is structure and discipline

A line has to be drawn for a child that says,"that far" but do not cross
The line for this society has become faded possibly by curtailing discipline in schools, work, social life

The punishments for crossing that line have also been blurred, the severity may not be the deterent it needs to be at the outset

Lack of discipline is also a failure of society to its young ones, they need clear lines drawn and consequences for overstepping that line
They also need hope encouragement and activities,

Brucie,

Teenage daughters...tell me about it!!!
I've got 3 15, 13 & 8. Talk about feeling outnumbered.

Justice Kamikaze style! A lightweight crimefighting glove containing a fistful of cool gadgetry has been designed for the police. The glove deters violence but, in case negotiations break down spectacularly a safety pull-pin preps the four wrist electrodes to function as a stunner and a button in the palm unleashes half a million volts of electricity to temporarily incapacitate the target. Other buttons activate a laser pointer for impromptu PowerPoint presentations, HD video camera for filming your own justice based reality TV show and flashlight for lighting said show. If that's not enough, customisations are available on request. I think they should include a cup holder, and a pencil sharpener.
