Hi guys, just recently wired up an s plan plus system however, the third valve is for an underfloor heating system which has its own pump, what i want to know is how do i connect this pump into the system? My switch lines for the 3 valves (orange) are connected up to the switch line from the boiler but i do not want the underfloor heating pump to run when the other two valves are called for which is what it is doing at the moment obviously because the 3 oranges are all connected. I did think of putting the underfloor heating valve in a separate connector with the live from the pump but doing this would not call the boiler for heat and if i did put a link between the boiler and the new connecter then the other valves would still become live wouldnt they?

Please any help would be grateful (if you can understand lol)

thanks

Adam

I think there are some wiring diagrams in this section which might help, off the top of my head i cant think of a solution, ive wired same sytems but without the pump on the u/f so will watch this one with interest.

Usually UFH systems have their own wiring centre with a whole bunch of electronics in it to control everything. However, if you do not have this and it is a single zone UFH system (no actuator valves on the manifold) then you can connect the pump to the switch live from the programmable thermostat that controls the UFH zone. Make sure the programmer can handle the load (usually they are good for 3A inductive load which is fine unless it's a huge pump) and essentially you will connect the pump to the brown wire of the motorised valve rather then the orange. Orange wire still connects to the boiler and main system pump but i would still expect there to be a electronic wiring centre regardless.
