I just moved into rented accommodation and found this (see pic) under my sink. When I was last in the electrical business 30 or so years ago it would have been classed as a horror show waiting to happen, thoughts?

Probably had to put them there as they couldn’t fit them under the bath.there's a few houses in Winsford built in '70s with CU's under the kitchen sinks, as built.

I take it the circuits feeding the CUs had 30mA RCD protection?I seen an install last year where consumer units were located under the sinks in en-suites
In a cupboard, outside the zones so all ok
I had a situation where a Combi boiler pressure relief valve was continually opening because the top up ball valve hadn’t been closed fully.sockets anywhere can be subject to water from a leak . a leak above a ceiling can run along the board and then travel down conduit or capping several feet away. you pay your plumber, you take the chance.

I didn’t do any electrical work on that job, I only supplied pre-assembled lighting boards and programming..
It was a job full of many departures, fortunately it wasn’t my name on any of the test certs..
