I am looking to gain employment with the end goal of becoming an electrician.

My plan thus far is to apply as an Electrical Labourer or possibly an Electrician's Mate then after a year or move into an adult apprenticeship.

To enhance my chances of gaining employment I am putting myself through tickets in the hopes of being more useful to an employer. So far am planning to do;

ECS card
PASMA
IPAF 1b, 3a and 3b
Working at heights
Confined spaces

Now my questions are, should I be looking to do more tickets? Is there other ways to get where I wish to go?

I live in Scotland south of Glasgow.

Any advice, hints or tips will be great!

Thanks everyone.

What is the actual work situation like where you are?
All the tickets in the world mean nowt if there’s no jobs going local.

Is there agency work around where you are? Get a foot in somewhere, do well, and you might be offered a full time position.
