Had the shower fitted in April this year, got an on/off button and then obviously isolator. Some people are leaving the isolator switch on, will this burn the shower out because im having to turn thermostat just about on max to give a 'warm' heat.

Do I need a new shower is basically the question and is leaving the isolator on causing this to happen?

Thanks

there is no load when the shower is off apart from the neon being lit on the isolator so no it won't cause you a problem at all! think of a cooker circuit where the cooker is on all the time with the clock being shown =0)

Electric showers do get much cooler during winter, due to the fact that the mains water coming in is much colder and takes more energy to heat up. We have to have ours set quite high now to get a decent temperature out of it

Yes, electric showers are not very good, and they also look unsightly and are un-economical.

I will always try to steer my clients down the power-shower route as they are much better.

Fortunately for me, I also do power-showers. :)
