Hi all and please forgive me if this has been asked many times before,
I'm trying to purchase and get installed by one of the national electrical appliances retailers a single oven but I'm getting slightly confused as to what they are wanting to charge me for?
So here my supply, 32amp from the CU to my cooker switch and then I believe 6mm to the socket plate beside the cooker,
Option 1
Looking at a bosch 2.99kw 13amp cheapest oven with a standard 13amp plug,
The advise iv had from the retailers is that I would need a sparky to install a socket for me be able to plug said oven into?
My question is could i wire a 2.5m flex cable with a single socket on the end, into the cooker plate and then be able to plug oven into socket and be OK?
Or by adding that cable would I then need a minor works certificate?
Option 2, is that they are trying to up sell me a bosch higher rated oven at 3.4kw 16amp (alot more expensive) which they are saying could be hard wire straight in?
Now he's where I'm confused, both the oven are supplied with the same 1.5 cable so I'm trying to understand how the second oven can hard wired with it being a higher rated unit
I also have a hob running of the same 32amp supply? Does this make any difference?
Many thanks
Pete
Ps does any one know what the like of curry's and AO include in there installation, as for option 1 it was £100 to install the oven but that was after I had got a sparky out to sort a socket, so in my mind I'm looking for a cheap oven at £350/400 paying to a sparky to sort a socket out, and then getting £100 ripped of for them to plug it in
which is now not such a cheap oven any more
And help much appreciated
