Hi, I have been asked by a friend to make safe some work left in his restaurant kitchen but am unsure of the best way.

Where the pot wash area is, there's a socket directly above the sink which obviously is very dangerous. Also theres a socket in the floor facing up which could be hazardous if anything is spilt.

I know you can get blanking plates to put over socket boxes with the wires made safe inside but I understand these are not waterproof. I thought about terminating the wires into IP44 adaptable boxes but the wires are not long enough to come out of the wall and into a box.

Any ideas??

Thanks

Idealy pull the cables up above ceiling or below floor and make off but we used to use self amalgamating tape which was brilliant at keeping moisture out, if you through crimp then wrap it round the joints and then as Jason said put some sealant round it, The best stuff I have found is a fernox-lsx from a plumbers merchants or B & Q, it is **** to a blanket stuff and much better than silicon
