steel tails for new consumer unit

yes they are. I only got a chance for a quick look so I can find out for sure. they looked in good condition. so is it feasible to keep them?

Do these tails bend ? Never seen or heard of steel tails, probably tinned copper as another states. If they bend they ain't steel !

steel conduit bends. i done a few, some even using a bender.

If it was me I would get an electrician in to check

I doubt they would be that old as surely if that were the case there would be no question about re using them ? I think they'll be the tinned copper type with both the inner insulation and sheath in red and black pvc rather than red/black or brown/blue with grey outer sheath. I prefer these older tails actually as they're almost always easier to dress and terminate neatly, a bit more flexible than the new stuff.

they are red and black and the consensus seems to be tinned copper, so I am inclined to agree and will check when I next see them. thanks for your comments
