Have three spot lights in wardrobe.
Wired back to switch.
Wanted to take out the three spots and replace with one strip light.
The strip light is currently wired with a figure of 8 lead to a plug. 2.5/250 would it be correct to be able to strip off plug and wire this to where it current wires to the spot light.

Light.

should be OK. long as you're competent to do it safely.

The strip light is mains voltage. Are your spotlights also mains voltage, or are they 12v?
If they are mains then you can connect up. If they 12v then you will have one, or several, transformers hidden somewhere that will need to be removed.
