HI - I am currently registered with the NIC EIC - Domestic installer, which also includes the Part P certification. I am muling over the idea of terminating the membership, but I wish to remain Part P registered
in order to still practice legally. Is this possible and how do i go about it

Basically sick of the what i am getting for my £500.00+ per/yr membership fee, and this excludes
extra costs for certificates etc and out free time to allow for annual assessments.

NIC EIC doesn't make me a good or better Electrician/Sparky.

Will Part P surfice and how is this done?

And no! Not being registered doesn't make Electricians cow boys unless you actually poor at the job and do not read and employ or instate the regulations - Which all us good sparkies do anyway!

Any advice is greatfully received

You will have to speak to your local building control to see what they would require for notifiable works.

If you leave the scheme you are in fact no longer Part P covered. You will have to ask the customer to pay for BC fees. I have heard of local councils sometimes accepting competency from a non scheme member but I imagine that is a somewhat fraught and unlikely outcome.
