Sounds about right. So HM twitter account showing a vid saying key worker, but other HM web sites saying go to work if you absolutely can't do it from home, so they don't know themselves.
If they wanted us to do that I think they’d have made it crystal clear instead of just pretty clear.....Other words that left the mouth of the PM were "If you don't follow the rules the police will have the powers to enforce them, including through fines and dispersing gatherings." Pretty clear what the government want us to do.
I agree 100%I’m working in an empty house directly opposite mine I think I’ll be ok ?......the end of my garden is further from the front of my house than the house I’m working in.......my argument is more for all the poor sods who arnt so lucky and by the looks of it are being conveniently hung out to dry by the government
No one is being hung out to dry these are exceptional circumstances. You want to see some poor sods look at the situation in Italy and don't think for one moment we may not be heading the same way.I’m working in an empty house directly opposite mine I think I’ll be ok ?......the end of my garden is further from the front of my house than the house I’m working in.......my argument is more for all the poor sods who arnt so lucky and by the looks of it are being conveniently hung out to dry by the government
This has just appeared on a FB group i'm in, not sure if it's already been posted on this forum:
House of Commons Public Bill Committee Amendments: Coronavirus Bill pages 14-18

Hearsay has it that it is at the proposal stageIs that in progress or is it something that may come in?
Not arguing with that fact @weatward and just for the record I won’t be attending any jobs that are not essential.....but the government took the time under these exceptional circuits to ensure the majority had money for food and medicines but did nothing for the self employed, I don’t get any benefits and I need regular prescriptions from my accident and pre existing medical condition, what am I to do?....I’m certainly not alone in these circumstances I’m sure...No one is being hung out to dry these are exceptional circumstances. You want to see some poor sods look at the situation in Italy and don't think for one moment we may not be heading the same way.
In many circumstances, yes. Is an emergency generator necessary in a hospital, or a food production line important? There are dozens of reasons why they are needed in this crisis. The only reasons you may leave your home.
To go to work if you're a key worker
Shop for groceries
Exercise
Provide care or help.
Are electricians key workers...
My 100% agreement was more for the empty house working and not the hung out to dry comment. the circumstances are exceptional to say the least, tragic figures in Italy just awful. No one is being hung out to dry these are exceptional circumstances. You want to see some poor sods look at the situation in Italy and don't think for one moment we may not be heading the same way.
Thanks Pretty, something like this needs to happen. I'm sure most of us are in the same boatHearsay has it that it is at the proposal stage
Go ahead then and put money before your health and the health of your family and others. To stop this virus quickly and to help the NHS people need to start listening.typical government announcement they never make anything clear. But until they offer financial help its work as normal as possible for me. We cant pay any fines anyway if were not earning and they are not helping us

Your manager is wrong the PM saidSo as long as we're inside properties that are empty ie commercial or domestic we can still work,
That's the interpretation of my manager
I would say your manager is wrong. You must stay at home.So as long as we're inside properties that are empty ie commercial or domestic we can still work,

If you have a manager I’d assume you are on the cards in which case you’ll be getting 80% of your wages....hardly necessary that you go and work in empty buildings is it?I would say your manager is wrong. You must stay at home.
Why can't people think for themselves these days?
It's not exactly hard to see the indirect ways that staying at home will help.
The NHS is under major stress at the moment, so as well as reducing the spread of the disease we need to reduce the workload on the NHS in any other way possible.
If everyone stays at home as much as possible the number of accidents occurring which take up emergency services and hospital time will be greatly reduced.
So you're merrily working away in your empty building and have an accident, or have an accident on the way home, then you'll be taking up time in an A&E department and exposing yourself .....
That's why he's closed all the shops! Working from home will doubtless spawn all manner of DIY Projects! I have to admit to embarking on one all of my own, homebrew kit on order to weather the storm!um... don’t most accidents happen in the home?
I know... I get what you’re saying

It has to be vague because there is no time to write a 5,000 page document defining each and every little tiny detail !!!!!...I’d go further and say the reason he’s left open ended is because he knows that no money is forthcoming for self employed...
