im not sure i could take on too much more work anyhow as its been manic lately
just wish the ad had worked better when it was needed during the slow periods, would have saved me from the dreaded leaflet drop

So what your saying is that someone ring for a light to be installed ANC you then convince them that they need a new fuse board. Pressure sales don't u just hate them.

more like suggestions that work... and complying with the current regulations.

most installations dont have the gas and water services bonded, so that's a job that has to be done.

recommending an upgrade of an old crappy fuseboard for a decent consumer unit
isn't what i call "pressure sales" either- after all, it's our duty to make things safer/better isn't it?

BuilderGuide, Checkatrade, Trust a Trader, trustmark, myhammer, Ratedpeople, the list just goes on and on. What worries me is that there are so many of these companys cropping up since the recession, preying on desperate tradesmen, that even if people do use them, they've got about 50 to choose from.

I have never really had much faith in advertising for a job that requires you to be in someones home, sometimes unsupervised, because generally people prefer reccomendation from someone they actually know, in my experience.

The kind of people who actually don't know anyone that can reccomend an electrician and have to resort to a stranger off the interent, are not usually the kind of people I want to be working for and the jobs are generally small.

I don't actually have any experience of any of these companies this is all just opinion.

Checkatrade seems to be the only one that gets any recognition within the building trade.

Our income has gone down, how come the yearly renewals for the scams don't reduce?! No way on gods earth does it cost that kind of dough to administer and visit for half a day. Someones making a lot of cash out of our hard earned money. which ones offer monthly payment now?
